Okay, you are Infinity Ward. What would you change?

Title says it all. Nothing is of limits. Weapons, perks, equipment, etc.

Weapons REMOVED:
Model 1887 (Kind of needless to have 6 shotguns, not to mention one as old as this one.)
Ranger (same. sawed off is cool, but really hampers its range.)
M9 (no need to have a pistol this under powered unlocked at level 40 something)
F2000 (I don't see a purpose for this gun. A lot of recoil, huge fire rate, not a lot of power, there were alot better choices IMO)
Weapons ADDED:
L85A2 Assault Rifle (Accurate, versatile, good looking. A classic assault rifle)
AK-74u SMG (A classic from CoD4, I was real disappointed it wasn't included)
G36c Assault Rifle (Space age Assault rifle with collapse-able stock, another CoD4 non return.)
L96 LSW Arctic Warfare Sniper Rifle (The sexiest sniper rifle I have ever seen. Built specifically for arctic warfare, it would go real nicely in the cliffhanger mission)

Equipment REMOVED:
Blast Shield (kind of useless unless you use the riot shield)
Equipment ADDED:
"Ghost" (sort of like tactical insertion, except it would give off a false signature to UAV's, Air Support, and heartbeat sensors.)

Perks REMOVED:
Sitrep (again, real useless to me as nobody uses equipment mostly other then frag/semtex)



Your guys' thoughts? comments? ideas?

The 1887 is actually pretty good in my opinion. It does slack in shooting speed but it is powerful and comes in handy in certain situations.
As for your blast shield complaint, obviously IW didn't include it thinking it would be used that often but the various equipment options give you a variety of setups that are more effective in certain game modes.

SitRep does seem unimportant to many but it also serves a purpose in certain games. Of course it seems pointless in TDM but in domination/demolition/CTF it's a great perk to have to destroy tactical insertions and so you don't run across the map just to get blown up by an unexpected claymore...and to hear enemies moving around much better which I haven't used sitrep pro so i wouldn't know how effective that is.

I would change -

1. The PS3 invite system. The CoD 4 invite system worked perfectly, yet on MW2 we have to PS3 button onto XMB and then go through our friends list. More long winded and me no likey.

2. The PS3 party system. No end of times i've been in a lobby with a party of 6, started a game only for half or more of the party ending up on the opposing team. Wtf

3. The heart beat sensor. This coupled with the UAV is a "follow the red dot" n00bcake's paradise.

Apart from those i've mentioned (and the increased amount of camping), it's the best game ever.

My change is minor.....get rid of the money exploding from bodies upon Death.

Two notes from some of your posts

Gosu -

I think the HeartBeat does well to "even" the field a little. It helps with people that love this game but just aren't that good.

Big J -

You'd be surprised at the number of people that use Equipment. My One Man Army class has SitRep as it's perk and its Crazy how many red warnings I see. Tactical Insertions, C4, Claymores, it even shows Grenades in red.

Yeah same all i would change is the Money that flies out of nowhere when ppl die. Just no point to it

Other than that i love every part of modern warfare 2

I'd make few changes... mainly to even the playing field between AR's and SMG's... mainly nerfing Assault rifles. They can compete easily with Sniper rifles for long distance shooting, and the full auto ones can compete easily with SMG's at Steady Aiming/Close Quarters. (AR has similar rates of fire, less damage degradation, and seemingly more actual damage). Not to mention AR's get HBsensors, noob tubes, etc etc... very little incentive to use SMG's.
Oh, and I'd make Sitrep pro easier to get. I rarely see anyone putting equipment down, barring the odd claymore or the occasional TI... and destroying them is a pain, so why do i have to take out 120 of the damn things?

Personally i like HB sensors... they're useful, but have a counter. (Ninja) I regularly run around with Cold Blooded+Ninja Pro, takes people by total surprise. Can also be useful FOR ninjas (tried an SCAR-H bling ninja, HBS+silencer, good to get an idea of what's around the corner before you go)

edit: Oh, and thermal scopes. They're for lazy muppets with no eyes. I'd change them so that it was EXTREMELY difficult to spot a cold blooded player through thermals. That way the scope gives a good advantage, with a pretty big disadvantage to even it out a bit

1. I'd take out the FAMAS
2. Take out the map "Estate".
3. Put party chat in TDM.

How do you do that?

Go to Profile>Edit Profile>Privacy Settings>Voice and Chat>Change to "Friends Only"

It'll sign you out to make the change, then you're good to go. Very Happy

Wow... ALOT to be quite honest but I'll just share these here:

1) Spawning system - the current build is absolutely atrocious. Nuff said...

2) Latency/Netcode - Needs a serious redux, apparently it doesn't even fit the standard of the older COD games (COD4, WaW).

3) Assualt Rifle Damage modifer - Seriously, the way ARs are in this game why would most gamers choose any other weapon. Seriously they need to balance out the ARs so it can play as well as COD4 and actually see variety of classes/weapons out there in the playing field.

Lessen the strength of painkiller.
Take out stopping power (if you don't use it, your screwed in a one on one firefight)
fix grenade indicators (they only show up if you are right on top of it)

uh. I know there's a bit more, but I can't think of it.
