Should the Nuke be available in all game types?

Now, I realise that this one could be a bit controversial, but I still think it's a topic worthy of discussion.

First off, I do appreciate that game features as hard hitting as the Nuke will always be a little bit controversial, because they are largely a matter of taste. One person will like them while another person won't and IMHO there's no absolute right or wrong here.

Having said that though, I also believe that 'uber' game winning features like the Nuke are only really suited to certain game types.

For example, I personally have no objection to being 'Nuked' in game modes where the objective is simply to get as many kills as possible, such as FFA and TDM. If someone manages to 'engineer' their way to a nuke, I'll be the first to congratulate them, (albeit through gritted teeth, admittedly Wink Very Happy) because that's the name of the game - get those kill streaks moving and wipe out as many opponents as possible. Indeed, what a glorious way to come back from the brink of disaster, if you can pull a Nuke out of the bag at the last minute to snatch victory away from the opposition. Wonderful stuff!

However, when it comes to the objective based games like Domination, Headquarters, etc., I get the feeling that the ability to go for the Nuke can severely compromise the game's overall objective. As we all know, it can already be difficult to get some players to 'go for the objective' rather than just harvesting kills off of other players who are otherwise engaged.

Now, to make matters even worse, we find ourselves in the situation where (with the aid of the Nuke), going purely for kills during objective based games can actually win you the game! Rolling Eyes

So what's the point of having all those different game types if they can all be won in exactly the same way, by getting a 25 kill streak?

I agree with you on this. TDM and FFA are the only two places I like the use of the nuke. Outside of that it promotes people not playing the game type. If I were purely playing to get a nuke I would go for it in an objective style game type because it would likely be easiest to get then.

I think care packages should have nukes in SnD other then that it works fine the way it is. If someone gets 25 kills in a row you deserve to be nuked.

its easier to get a nuke in ground war on domination then in TD too, because people arnt just going for kills. (2 nukes in one day & another the day after right here Very Happy )
