Tons of tips and strategies out there. One that is important in MW2 is placing tactical insertions in good spots to save your team the run back. Which equals out to more opportunities to take the flag.

You could also try designated 1-2 people as flag cappers each game, have those people setup speed classes (marathon & lightweight). You can switch the designated people every few games or so to get everyone involved.

Learn to use smokes correctly. Not just directly on top of the flag, but have your team throw multiple smokes to clear the path for a runner. Communication is key so be sure they know which way to run after they grab the flag, not just grab and run whatever way.

Try having one person equip a riot shield, which can cause as a distraction when around the enemy base. Having a sniper can also help by picking off those guarding around their flag, having one less enemy to deal with can be a deciding factor on if you can get the flag and get out of there.

We could probably setup a thread for strategies/tips on several gametypes where we could all contribute to and combine all of them into a 'WePlayCoD strategy guide' of some sorts. Seems like a good idea to me Very Happy Twisted Evil Question Question Question

Hmm, I might be willing to help out...for a fee of course. Jk Jk!. Razz

Well, no Tac Insertion definitely puts a damper on it, but you can work around that. The main thing would be assigning certain positions for everyone on your team and getting them to stick to those positions.

You obviously need at least 2 teammates near your flag at all times, preferably with both long and short range capabilities. I'd actually say that you could split up into pairs and that would work great. 2 flag defenders. 2 defenders that roam your half of the map while giving the runner protection as needed. The other 2 would be your flag runners.

As 1 said, speed classes are a must. Lightweight isn't necessarily needed, but Marathon is. I like to pop a smoke in the location that I will be traveling once I've grabbed a flag. The more smoke the better. While one player grabs the flag, the wingman (or wingwoman in this case) needs to sit back a bit and be prepared to provide cover fire. I'd also suggest silencers for your flag runners. Never underestimate the element of surprise.

The hard part is over once you've got the flag. Depending on the map, you can either bee-line it back to your flag while the rest of your team provides cover (smoke and cover fire) or you can use Marathon to duck around corners, which will reduce the chances of the runner team being apprehended.

As long as you can keep your team in line, always protect your flag, and protect your flag runners, you should be good to go.

MaTtKs - Thanks for the advice :]
we now have a team of 5 so our semi strats we had before dont work very well, but we did have 2 sit back defending the flag/runners, and 2 running both with light weight Pro and marathon Pro. We've only played on two maps sos far, Highrise and Favela because none of us enjoy the horrible defeats we get when playing CTF haha.

slack0matic - We are working on getting a Capture Card so once one of us gets one, ill post one for you. :]

He's good.... Razz

Definitely a good strategy. Teams always fail when everyone goes for the flag. Oh, and a 'bee-line' CAN work if it's on Wasteland. Straight through the tunnels (if the enemy team flat out sucks. Razz)

Rushing for the Flag is always a bad thing to do... playing defensively and offensively is always good. Think Tactical, and do what Matt says. He's plan sounds just about right.
